Point Management Group Receives SBA HUBZone Certification
PMG has been certified by the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) to participate in the Historically Underutilized Business Zone (HUBZone) program. The HUBZone program opens the door to help small businesses in urban and rural communities gain preferential access to federal procurement opportunities, setting the goal of awarding 3% of federal prime contract dollars to HUBZone-certified companies. Gaining HUBZone certification requires employing staff living in designated underutilized areas, reinforcing the efforts of both the Administration and Congress to promote economic development, and employment growth by increasing access to federal contracting opportunities.

Inaugural Transportation Career Fair Held in Abingdon, Virginia
Our Inaugural Transportation Career Fair with the Virginia Department of Transportation, Bristol District, was amazing! We had a fantastic time hosting 40 exhibitors and over 400 students from the Southwestern Virginia region. We are sincerely grateful to everyone who played a part in making our event so successful! Many thanks to our exhibitors, volunteers, and sponsors, AECOM and A. Morton Thomas & Associates, as well as to Subway for helping us provide lunch for our exhibitors and volunteers. It has been an honor to work alongside the VDOT Staff in Bristol, and we look forward to our next Transportation Career Fair in Abingdon in 2016!

Fluor-Lane 95 team honored by Virginia Department of Transportation
Recognized for excellence in supporting Disadvantaged Business Enterprises
The Fluor-led, 95 Express Lanes joint venture team, Fluor-Lane 95, LLC, was awarded the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) and Transportation Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) Advisory Committee Prime Contractor of the Year during the DBE Symposium in Newport News, Virginia.
The team is currently constructing 29 miles of toll roads on Interstate 95 in Virginia.
This award reflects the overall excellence in performance on VDOT contracts and Fluor-Lane 95’s commitments to building relationships with DBE firms. Six DBE firms currently working as subcontractors with Fluor-Lane 95 were also honored for their outstanding performance as well as the HDR, designer for the 95 Express Lanes Segment 1.
“Being recognized state-wide, by our partners for our outstanding accomplishments within the small, disadvantaged, minority and women-owned enterprises is a great reflection of the hard work and culture of inclusion that has been established among the Fluor-Lane 95 joint venture,” said Walter J. Lewis III, Fluor project director.
The Fluor-Lane 95 team continues to actively promote a positive legacy for DBEs in Virginia. The project has committed nearly $200 million to the program and infused over $190 million to date into the DBE community.
The team has exceeded the goal of $189 million set by VDOT.
